POLARIS Raumflugzeuge GmbH develops innovative transportation systems that redefine access to space for payloads and passengers. We are continuing to expand our team and are looking to fill the position of Vehicle Certification Engineer (m/f/d).
Your mission
- Support for the certification and flight authorization of drones, hypersonic systems, and spaceplanes (unmanned)
- Analyzing certification requirements and deriving requirements for the design, verification, and operation of hypersonic aircraft
- Collaborating with the relevant aviation authorities for certification and airspace integration and creating new certification procedures where necessary
- Support in testing and verification of applied design standards
- Development of regulatory frameworks or proposals for certification authorities
- Support in implementing new standards in the company infrastructure
Your profile
- Strong Background in Systems Engineering, Flight Safety and Certification Standards
- Several years of professional experience in the field of EASA Initial Airworthiness, EU UAV drone law desirable
- Knowledge of various aerospace standards required (ISO 9001, ISO 9100, etc.)
- Knowledge of aerospace safety and certification requirements (e.g., ARP4754, DO-178C, DO254, etc.)
- Experience in communicating with aerospace certification authorities desirable
- Excellent analytical and interdisciplinary skills
- fluent English, German desirable
- Proactive mindset, high level of motivation, flexibility, perseverance, and ability to work in a team
