POLARIS Raumflugzeuge GmbH develops innovative transportation systems that redefine access to space for payloads and passengers. We are continuing to expand our team and are looking to fill the position of Rocket Engine Design Engineer Systems & Component Design (m/f/d).
Your mission
- Design and development of rocket engine subsystems and components
- Translation of system requirements into subsystem and component designs
- Performance of system-level and component-level trade studies
- Integration of analytical results (performance, thermal, structural, fluid) into the design
- Support of engine integration, assembly, and test campaigns, including anomaly resolution
- Coordination of design changes through the engineering change process and maintenance of documentation
- Close collaboration with analysis, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and suppliers
- Communication with suppliers on manufacturability, materials, and design requirements, including review of supplier drawings
Your profile
- Degree in Space Engineering, Aerospace Engineering (M.Sc.) or similar
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience
- Profound understanding of the rocket engine design process and its subsystems
- Profound understanding of physics, fluid dynamics, manufacturing processes, rocket engine/propulsion systems
- Profound understanding of manufacturing methods of rocket engine components
- Proactive thinking, high level of motivation, flexibility, and team-working skills
- Proficiency in both German and English
- Knowledge of Creo is an advantage
- Experience with qualification/certification
- Work experience in a start-up environment
