POLARIS Raumflugzeuge GmbH develops innovative transportation systems that redefine access to space for payloads and passengers. We are continuing to expand our team and are looking to fill the position of Rocket Engine Design Engineer CAD & Mechanical Design (m/f/d).
Your mission
- Maintain and manage the master CAD model of the rocket engine, including configuration control and subsystem integration
- Design engine components and produce detailed technical drawings
- Perform thermo-mechanical simulations (thermal/structural FE analyses) and iterate designs based on results
- Ensure manufacturability, tolerance accuracy, and material suitability
- Coordinate with analysis, test, and integration teams to incorporate design updates
- Communicate with suppliers regarding manufacturability, materials, design requirements and review supplier drawings
- Maintain BOMs and support procurement and assembly
- Document design changes through the engineering change process
Your profile
- Degree in Space Engineering, Aerospace Engineering (M.Sc.) or similar
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience
- Advanced skills in CAD modelling
- Profound understanding of the rocket engine design process and its subsystems
- Profound understanding of physics, fluid dynamics, manufacturing processes, rocket engine/propulsion systems
- Profound understanding of manufacturing methods of rocket engine components
- Proactive thinking, high level of motivation, flexibility, and team-working skills
- Proficiency in both German and English
- Knowledge of Creo is an advantage
- Experience with Windchill is an advantage
- Experience with qualification/certification
- Work experience in a start-up environment
