POLARIS Raumflugzeuge GmbH develops innovative transportation systems that redefine access to space for payloads and passengers. We are continuing to expand our team and are looking to fill the position of Structural Design and Analysis Engineer for Supersonic and Hypersonic Vehicles (m/f/d).

Your mission

  • Design and optimization of aircraft structures, including primary structure, internal architecture, landing gears and mechanisms among others of a two-staged super/hypersonic aircraft
  • Material and construction method selection for supersonic / hypersonic aircraft structures
  • Static and dynamic load analysis of aircraft structures using FEM
  • Stability analysis of aircraft wing structures in supersonic / hypersonic regime
  • Support system and subsystem tests
  • Quick technical thinking and problem solving

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Strong Background in structural engineering
  • Background in Aerospace favorable
  • Experience with FEM Software (Ansys Mechanical or similar)
  • Experience with CAD Modelling
  • Good Knowledge about common aerospace construction materials (Aluminum, Titanium, Steel, CFRP, …) and manufacturing techniques
  • Proactive thinking, high motivation, flexible way of working
  • Proficiency in both German and English
  • Experience with working in a startup environment favorable
