POLARIS Raumflugzeuge GmbH develops innovative transportation systems that redefine access to space for payloads and passengers. We are continuing to expand our team and are looking to fill the position of Rocket Engine Fluid System Design Engineer (m/f/d).

Your mission

  • Design and interpretation of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) based on requirements and functional needs.
  • Define and verify key performance parameters, such as flow rates, pressures, and efficiency
  • Define specifications for valves, pressure regulators, pressure vessels and safety components.
  • Fluid system component selection, trade-off studies and procurement
  • 0D/1D Simulation and analysis of system behavior. 
  • Design fluid system parts and assemblies in CAD.
  • Define operation and safety procedures for the fluid system. 
  • Analysis of test results to check compliance and safety.

Your profile

  • Degree in Space Engineering, Aerospace Engineering (M.Sc.) or similar
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience
  • Profound experience in the design and development of fluid systems, ideally in aerospace, space, high-pressure or cryogenic applications 
  • Profound understanding of the rocket engine design process and its subsystems
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and overall fluid system behavior
  • Experience with 0D/1D simulation and analysis of fluid systems, including steady-state and transient behavior
  • Proactive thinking, high level of motivation, flexibility, and team-working skills
  • Proficiency in both German and English
